Questionmark Updates SharePoint Portal Connector for New Version of Perception
Portal Integration Enables Easy Authentication and One-click Access to Online Assessments

LONDON – December 15, 2005 – Questionmark announced today the availability of the SharePoint Portal Connector for use with version 4 of the Questionmark™ Perception™ assessment management system. The connector enables organisations who have deployed Microsoft SharePoint Portal (SPS) to provide one-click access to online assessment.

Portals organise relevant online tools and content and enable convenient, efficient single sign-on access to resources that require user authentication. The connector integrates Questionmark Perception — software for authoring, administering and reporting on assessments — with SharePoint. When participants log into a SharePoint-powered portal, they will see a section of the portal called “my assessments,” which will list links to online assessments that have been scheduled for them in Perception.

The integration, which utilises Microsoft “web parts,” gives users access to a “My Assessments” window” similar to their “My Calendar,” “My email” and/or “My Address Book” windows. Under “My Assessments,” the logged-in user sees a list of the quizzes, tests and surveys that have been scheduled for them. Clicking on one of the assessment links causes the assessment to start. When the assessment is completed, the results are stored within the Perception database for future analysis, and the user can receive any appropriate feedback.

The Questionmark™ Perception™ assessment management system enables educators and trainers to create, securely administer and report on surveys, quizzes, tests and exams to motivate learners, diagnose gaps, and measure knowledge, skills, abilities, and opinions. The latest version of perception includes workflow management multiple authors distributed authoring, and drag-and-drop publishing, Powerful content management capabilities make it easier to organize, store, secure and publish assessment content.

About Questionmark
Questionmark has been producing testing and assessment software since 1988. The Questionmark Perception assessment management system allows people to create question files without programming experience or knowledge of HTML. Users can create multiple question banks from which to assemble tests and surveys, organising questions into topics and sub-topics. They can shuffle questions and answers for each participant and preview sessions to see how they will appear post-deployment. They can present questions with videos, graphics and a wide variety of styles. Participants receive feedback as specified by the test author. Answers are saved to a file for scoring and analysis in a variety of report formats.

Businesses, governments, schools, colleges, and universities in more than 50 countries use Questionmark software. Questionmark has more than 2,200 customers using Perception and is a keen supporter of open standards. Typical applications include exams, quizzes, study aids, diagnostic tests, pre-course skills assessments, and course evaluations. Questionmark offers training courses and extensive learning materials designed to improve assessment authoring and management.
